Vintage-y Part II

I downloaded the vintage pharmacy label and then stamped the numbers and words.
I can't pass up a pretty, vintage swallow and some gorgeous vintage-y paper for underneath.
I found these huge, foam alphabet stamps at Joann on clearance this week.  I love letters and monograms and thought a set of these blank cards would make a really nice gift.
More vintage images I found online....teacups from the 1850's that I laser printed on white cardstock.  I love the detail on the cups.  There's 5 different ones but I only took a picture of one (I don't know why...I think I'm just tired today maybe).

Thanks for looking!

Vintage-y

I was browsing a newly opened, little vintage store in my neighborhood on Saturday and I got inspired to try to create some of my own vintage-y looks.

With Valentine's Day right around the corner, how cute would these tags look tied to a bottle of wine or to a bottle of new fragrance for your significant other??

Dear Poor, Neglected Blog...

I've been crafty I swear....I just haven't had a chance to post anything here on my crafty blog.  *sigh*

Here's some cards I made using my new favorite Cricut cartridge, Nifty Fifties.

I'm working on something new...a style I've done in the past but am now going to re-visit and see how it goes.

More to come :)

BENTLEY IS HOME!!

As I type this, he resting in my lap.  Like he never left.

If you follow my blog, you know that Bentley disappeared from our yard back in July and it literally broke my heart.

A vet's office in a city about 20 minutes from us called me this morning.  She said they a client of their's had brought in a little dog that she found.  When the vet scanned him, they found his microchip which is linked back to me.  The vet gave me the name and number of the woman that found him on the street.  Her name is Abby and her Yorkie died several months ago.  She admitted that she wanted to keep him.  But her heart told her to try to find the owners first.  She was worried that a child somewhere was missing his/her little dog.

I never ever thought I'd see my little dog again.  I can't believe he is home with us.  I can't believe that there are still good, honest people out there.  I

I have to leave soon to pick the girls up.  I can't wait to see their reaction when they see Bentley after all this time.

Home

I used to think "home" was where I grew up and where I spent most of my life.  That somehow - living there longer than anywhere else - made it home.  But after almost 3 weeks there over the holidays, I realized that my hometown really isn't my "home" anymore.

My parents are there.  My niece and nephew.  Aunts, uncles, cousins.  My grandparents are buried there. My high school.  My college. My first job.  Someone who has become one of my best friends lives there.  The houses where I grew up and the first one I bought.  My ex-friends and my ex-husband.  Basically everything that shaped the first 28 years of my life is still there.  Right where I left it.

But it's not home anymore.

My home is here.  With my husband and the family we have created with our girls and a wonderful group of neighbors and friends.  Where I gave birth to my twins. Where we have created a beautiful home in a beautiful part of the country.  Where I finally decided what I wanted to do for a living.

This is home.  And after 19 days away, I'm really glad to be back.
